Hi,
Say you know this Build 596 bug hit me and hit me very hard. It was such a disaster what it did to my whole system. At first, I thought it was a PC malfunction yet got nowhere looking into it that way. Then, one day/night working on it, i found this thread and knew the problem. However it was not solved by uninstalling MX10.5.596 and going to an earlier version. My PC was quite messed up requiring INF download of chipset files for my ASRock Steel Legend motherboard; i did not want to keep doing this as using MX changing the version no longer mattered, the PC was hosed!
This is on a year old custom built PC Windows 10 Pro. Being there was no fixing whatever it did to my PC, fortunately I am a believer in keeping stable safe system image backups - This was the only thing that saved me here was reverting to June 8th 2024 backup sys image. Now with having to do little else things are fine! However, lesson leaned as had been in the distant past with an upgrade hosing the system had last been 20 years ago, so I was not expecting. AS a result of this bug, I once it was fixed, set the settings to never update, and to not show update button anymore the update button on the task bar of Mixcraft. I will Not be taking anymore updates on this MX version currently works fine. It is Build 579 and is the last stable Build I can find, which was running fine until the untold update basically crashed my system.
This was such a major inconvenience in that I had no idea what the problem was so it took spending the better part of 5 days and nights to get my system up again. I was not and am not happy about this happening at all the time involved to figure it out. Not cool.!! An email notification to all who downloaded that update might if is possible could've been in order upfront. IDK Just glad I was able to repair mine to functionality. This was the only way I could find around it the bug; I wish anybody good luck in fixing yours.... Mine was a i5 12600K on Steel Legend z690, 16GB DDR4, SSDs etc. It was totally hosed until the image restore, wish Y'all luck!! That's how I had to fix this bug myself in Build 596, wish you luck with yours!
