Mixcraft • Am I Missing Something Obvious?

I recorded this midi piece with my usual midi keyboard and it plays just fine.

I can edit the notes in the usual way EXCEPT; I cannot control the velocities. Even in this example where I have a section set to no volume at all, the notes still play unchanged. This happens in the piano roll and the step editor as well.

This example is in Mixcraft 8, but it has the same behavior in the latest 10.5 build as well.
