The minimize button right of the dock button feels too far to the edge sometimes...

For MC 10.5 if you choose File > Preferences > Hotkeys

Look for the View set of commands or search for Detail

You can assign a keyboard shortcut to show and hide the Details window. That could help you avoid the tiny minimize button. You can add a key combination for the docking and undocking as well.
