Hi,

The effects on the submix will affect the submix track not the individual tracks. It's like putting an effect on the master. If track 1 has no effects and you put an effect on the master track, the output from track 1 will not change - but the combined input from track 1 and output of the master track will be affected.

Just as the track name implies, a submix is a mix of the tracks contained within in it. Putting an effect on the submix affects the combined output of all of the tracks. It doesn't alter the individual tracks output.

Put a spectrum analyzer as the last effect on a submix track and put a spectrum analyzer (SPAN) as the last effect on one of the tracks within the submix. If you have the EQ on the submix before the submix SPAN, you should see a difference between the SPAN on the track and a SPAN on the submix. The track will only show what's going on with the track, but the submix will show the EQ'd input passing through it as output. The EQ is doing it's thing, then it is followed by the SPAN on the submix to display how the sound from the track is being EQ'd on the submix.

The order of effects is
Track FX 1, FX 2, FX 3 etc
Submix FX 1, FX 2 FX 3 etc
