Mixcraft • Re: Laggy when using multiple monitors

Hmm. I guess I was assuming it had to be with Mixcraft being that the other 2 DAWs didn't have this symptom. The graphics card I have is a GeForce GTX1650.
While DAWS tend not to be the most demanding of applications on a PC, an older DAW may have been produced maximising the computer components of it's time whereas a more modern version of such a program may take advantage of newer computer components. Don't underestimate the general ability of a complete system to transfer data around as the amount of data used tends to increase with newer releases of programs in general.

Now I have seen more of your computer specs than you first gave out I notice your CPU / motherboard combination uses PCIe gen 2 while your nvidia graphics card is PCIe gen three. Mr.Mxyztlk's system is the other way around which means although his system has an older graphics card, the rest of the system is much faster regarding the speed movement of the data and I suspect the reason Mr.Mxyztlk is not seeing any problems.

In effect your graphics card is running at half of it capability in your system.
I too have an older alternative DAW running on my system and it's ability to give real time tracking to meter response times and tracking of zoomed in wave forms is much enhanced compared to what is possible in Mixcraft 10 Pro but at the cost of not being able to use as many tracks and vsts at once before the system becomes unstable and crashes. Something I have never experienced with Mixcraft.

In short I don't think a graphics card change will help but upgrading to a system that at least used PCIe gen four specs would.

Ray.
