I love Mixcraft. I'm having some issues though with Neural DSP products, namely the Plini one and various ASIO devices.
The issue is that it crashes somewhat randomly. Usually when there are multiple tracks that all have the Plini amp sim as the primary effect on the track. When it crashes, it's a glitched noise that lasts for a while - usually full volume of Mixcraft - and then it shuts off. Usually doesn't store a crash file, sometimes it does.
I currently have a really sweet recording PC, lots of RAM, a great CPU and motherboard that supports lightning connections.
I use an Apollo X4. I don't know how to use the control panel.
I consistently have Mixcraft crashing if I use the Plini amp simulator from Neural DSP.
Which sucks because this is Neural's best amp sim. Especially since they released the Plini X version.
I have submitted a crash file and they confirmed that it is my Plini plugin.
In the response, they also mentioned the ASIO reset option in preferences, something I never knew existed.
I assume they were talking about the "Ignore ASIO Reset Messages".
This has been checked since I've had Mixcraft 11 installed, it's inherently checked I guess at installation.
So I uncheck it and now my projects will not make it more than 1 second in. It's just a quick blurp of music/sound from the project. Not glitched.
Does anyone know more about the functionality of the control panel for UAD products? Maybe I could tweak something in there?
I have tried messing with ASIO Options: Use Device's preferred setings
This is usually always on. Turning it off didn't help.
My control panel settings:
Hardware:
Sample: 44.1kHz
Buffer (recording): 128
Buffer (Mixing/Mastering): 512 / 1024 (can go to 2048 but I seldom do)
Digital Mirror: Off (?)
Input Delay Compensation: Medium
Cue Bus Count: 2
Alt Count: 0
Thank you for any insight / help!
