What kind of hard drive are you using?I have read through the Optimize your PC for Mixcraft stuff but that all deals with latency and stuff like that. My problem is Mixcraft takes way long time to give me the first screen then more time to give the splash screen. This is in minutes.
Any ideas?
I should add here that it runs fine once it starts. No lag, latency all good

If you have an SSD, I would check the virus scanner. Normally you can define exceptions here so that the scanner does not check mixcraft and all vst instruments. This gave me around 20 percent performance at the start.
With conventional DMA hard drives, I would first check the hard drive with chkdsk and fix issues. After that start the windows defragmentation tool. And check for driver updates.
Where are your VST folders? Problems can also arise here if these are on a USB hard drive.
And check in the task manager which processes cause the most disk access when starting.
