Mixcraft • Re: Question for Melodyne users?

Hi,

Melodyne dosn't really care about Mixcraft's key signature settings. Melodyne does its own analysis of the audio data and based on its algorithm determines the key or the mode.

You cannot change the key Melodyne has analyzed to. However, you can get it to remap the key and what you see using the Note Assignment Mode and the Activation Tool. However, this won't update edits but will give you a picture of how you could manually edit the blobs in edit mode.

1. Double Click on your Clip
2. When the sound tab opens click on Melodyne
3. Click the Wrench Icon
4. Click the Arrow with the +-
5. Double Click on the Key name below Settings. Manually type the root key you think it should be. For example F# (don't bother with the m for minor)
6. RIGHT click on the key name within the Melodyne Piano Keyboard. From the drop down choose
Notes Reflect Scale Changes > Tuning and Mode
7. Right click again on the key name on the Melodyne Piano, either choose a mode for the key that's in the list or choose Open Scale... and then select the approriate scale mode
8. You will see the blobs change to accommodate the scale.

This is only a visual representation of what the alterations could be. You would have to make the changes manually in edit mode. I cannot figure out how to get these changes to transfer to edit mode.
