This seems sort of dumb, I just started using Mixcraft and so far I like how the majority of the interface is very intuitive. Everything seems logical and so far I had messed around with importing stems from other DAW's to learn about it. I like it and so far so good.
Today was my first attempt at recording audio to play to a backing track I dragged in. Vocals and Guitar.
The recording modes do not seem to have an option to do what I am used to.
Overwrite. In other word delete the first take when you rewind and start again.
" Takes " is obvious but I don't work that way, I prefer to erase and start fresh. I'll punch in mistakes later.
"Overdub" seems to create a new recording and keeps the old one?? This is the mode that would normally do what I want, is this broken?
Then "Replace" would seem to be to correct choice but I will hear all my prior takes layered together?? that seems totally wrong? This is obviously a Sound on Sound mode.
