I was wondering about tempo extraction. Thanks for the detailed info. In Cakewalk/Sonar using Ara you can drag a audio track to the timeline and it automatically creates the tempo map. I works best if you have a drum track to work with but it also works most times with even a whole mix. One of the reasons I bought Mixcraft was it supports Ara. Hopefully someday they can add the tempo extraction because I think it's Melodyne doing the work.
