I use "takes" mode a lot. They mute and just hang out in a lane, easy to delete later. I might play a solo a dozen times and pick the best take.....or the best sections from all the takes and merge them. Sometimes, I may end up with a multi-line solo by using different takes simultaneously. We are so spoiled. Good thing I still play in live bands, or I'd lose my chops.
