Interesting different view than mine. I like news and some advertising as long as it suits my interests. And it shouldn't bother me at work.
News only at the start and the store, which doesn't bother me, but where I like to take a look because I'm long. I think it's successful and really unobtrusive for me.
Whether that looks professional or not is a good question. The question is which user group is being targeted. Do you want to compete with Pro Tools and do you want David Guetta and Sony to be the new users or do you want something between Logic and Magix in the semi-professional area like Reaper or Ableton live. My understanding of Mixcraft is something between GarageBand and Samplitude. Easy to use but can still do a lot.
Anyway, for my usage in the home recording area it fits well with the store. There could even be more going on in it.
But interesting to hear a different perspective.
